Description
Responsibilities include:
- Setting up, operating, maintaining and cleaning the sterile Extended Shelf Life (ESL) filling equipment
- Monitoring caps, codes, weights and carton integrity
- Tasting products for quality
- Maintaining sterility of equipment related to ESL filling and conveying
- Maintaining sterility in the ESL filling area at all times
- Maintaining a hygienic, tightly controlled environment for the packaging of ESL products
- Disassembling and reassembling fillers and associated equipment for cleaning and ensuring they are safe and sterile
- Manual and hand cleaning of the equipment in the ESL packaging area
- Cleaning the environment of the filling room
- Operating and documenting daily CIP and sterilization activities of the equipment
- Operating the floor cleaner and scrubbing equipment
- Accurately recording daily production data and regulatory information and verifying they are within the established control limits for proper operation
- Performing laboratory tests and monitoring weight control of product
- Producing a quality product in a manner that meets Publix and regulatory standards
- Performing minor repairs, preventative maintenance and mechanical adjustments as needed and
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
The required qualifications for this position include:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must demonstrate excellent work habits in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Must have excellent safety work habits
- Have good understanding of sanitation practices and principles including manual and automated cleaning
- Must have mechanical aptitude and demonstrate mechanical abilities
- Must be able to work any shift, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
- Able to lift up to 50+ pounds repetitively
- Must be able to learn and perform all positions
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must have excellent attendance and punctuality
- Must be able to obtain a license and operate a forklift
- Must be able to perform basic math
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must have excellent safety work habits
- Able to maintain a sterile work station
- Able to perform steady and productive work for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work efficiently with little or no supervision
- Must be able to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
- Must be willing to assist other team members in other areas
- Must have good human relation skills (the ability to work well with others and to be a team member)
- Must be able to communicate effectively
