We are seeking a Facilities Engineer to join our Facilities team! The Facilities Engineer develops, coordinates, and manages the design of Publix industrial projects. This is accomplished through interaction between various design disciplines (i.e., architects, and structural, mechanical, plumbing refrigeration, civil, and electrical engineers) and Publix stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing support for managing design development of new construction, additions, and renovations of industrial projects
  • Supporting project programming of design for all capital industrial projects
  • Managing continuous improvement efforts related to the design and maintenance of industrial warehousing, manufacturing and distribution facilities and systems
  • Participating in procurement of design services and management of selected design firm
  • Developing, maintaining, tracking, and reporting of design Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for all projects and
  • Designing documentation and records retention using CAD programs and/or Excel, Access, Word, or other similar Microsoft Office formats.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited Engineering program
  • Must have ability to obtain licensure as an Engineer in the State of Florida with the ability to obtain licensure in other states
  • Knowledge of material handling automation
  • Knowledge of project management principles
  • Knowledge of supplier management principles
  • Knowledge of AIA and similar Architecture and Engineering design and performance contracts
  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management/ OSHA requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience working as an engineer in design and construction of industrial and manufacturing complexes with experience in refrigerated systems and warehousing
  • Licensed as an Engineer in the States of Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee
  • Knowledge of CQI methodology
