Description

Responsibilities include:

• Facilitating, organizing, and maintaining PSM program, manuals, and resources for ammonia refrigeration systems, equipment, and all personnel (internal and external) related to and associated with those systems at the Greensboro Industrial Complex
• Ensuring compliance with PSM, Risk Management Plan (RMP) and all federal, state, and local regulations
• Reviewing any new or system altering capabilities or processes prior to implementation
• Organizing and providing PSM mandated training to all applicable associates and contractors
• Reviewing and assisting in implementation of all Management of Change (MOCs), Pre-Start Up Safety Reviews (PSSRs), and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) activities
• Reviewing all refrigeration action plans relative to minor and major ammonia related projects and activities
• Organizing and providing a leadership role for all 14 elements of PSM
• Reading, understanding, and reviewing mechanical and electrical drawings, P&IDs, procedures and ammonia related programs and policies to insure compliance and viability within the PSM program
• Being the primary respondent in any PSM audit activity in conjunction with support personnel
• Implementing and maintaining all maintenance and preventative maintenance documentation in SAP in accordance with the PSM program
• Actively participating in all refrigeration team goals, activities, and programs
• Actively improving skills and staying abreast of current technologies
• Participating in RETA and other training systems
• Managing and scheduling refrigeration associates for PSM training, Confined Space, Hazmat, and Hot Work training programs
• Performing all safety related functions for the Industrial Refrigeration department including, but not limited to:
  • Maintaining Safety Plan in coordination with Corporate Safety and Industrial Refrigeration Manager
  • Developing, planning and conducting safety training for refrigeration associates and managers
  • Reporting on operations and reviewing safety performance and improvements and
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

The required qualifications for this position include:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Effective at providing training for associates
• Must be able to withstand walking, lifting, bending, stooping, climbing ladders, walking on roofs and working in confined spaces
• Must be able to work in various weather conditions
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings and technical specifications
• Must be able to read and understand complex regulatory requirements
• Must be able to conform to all OSHA, PSM, HAZMAT and Publix safety programs and regulations
• Must be able to learn and understand OSHA Emergency Response requirements
• Must demonstrate excellent work habits in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
• Must demonstrate safe working habits
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must have good human relations skills (the ability to work well with others and be a team player)
• Must be able to work any shift, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
• Must have excellent attendance and punctuality
• Must be willing to assist other team members in other areas
• Must be able to perform steady and productive work for an extended period of time
• Must be able to work efficiently with little or no supervision
• Must be able to follow detailed written and verbal instructions

• Ability to obtain medical clearance to wear respiratory protection (air purifying respirators) within two weeks of accepting the contingent offer (requires maintaining facial hair in a manner ensuring the respirator fits properly)

• RETA Certification (Refrigeration Engineers Technician Association) and
